Population is soaring in Palmview
[lwptoc]Did you know that during the last census there was only about 900 people who lived in the Sunshine Coast suburb of Palmview?
Back in 2016, the leafy suburb, just 15 minutes from the beach, was home to acreage properties but few people it seems.
Palmview had already been declared a master planned area, though, with the first sod turned that same year on the first 378 hectare development site.
The Sunshine Coast Council had previously identified Palmview as the perfect location to house future generations of coast residents because of the region’s booming population.
Image Property’s Paul Blackledge says the Sunshine Coast has been welcoming an increasing number of new residents over recent years.
“More and more people are calling the Sunshine Coast home because of our myriad attributes, including housing affordability, lifestyle and, of course, our enviable coast-line,” he says.
“One thing the coast also has in our favour is the ability to develop new communities given our ample land supply.”
Fast forward four years and Palmview is a very different place to what it once was.
The first development under the master planned designation is well under way with buyers young and old settled into their new homes.
The development is set to deliver about 5000 homes over the next decade or so, which will house up to 12,000 people.
The next stage of the development of the area will see another 3000 homes constructed for some 5000 people on another 122 hectares of land in Palmview.
Of course, all of this new development is bringing new life to the suburb, plus having a positive impact on property prices, too.
On top of that, the development of Palmview will see new attractions for residents and visitors to enjoy.
These new attributes will include a contemporary village-style town centre that will feature specialty shops as well as commercial businesses, cafes and restaurants.
Palmview’s first development will also benefit from a new district sporting facility in the region as well as a 60-metre wide, multi-kilometre long, linear parkway running from Sippy Downs through to the Mooloolah River in the south.
If that wasn’t enough, Palmview is well-suited to take advantage of the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder package with plenty of current house and land options available for budding homeowners.
With all of this happening, watch out for Palmview’s population to be nothing like its previous result when the next census rolls around in 2021!
